Oops: Canadian MP naked in video meeting | Abroad

Quebec Liberal Party member Amos walked naked through the picture. It stood between the flags of Canada and the Quebec region. In the images he appears to be taking an object for his private parts, possibly a mobile phone.

To the hilarity of other members of parliament, Amos was delicately pointed out by a colleague that it was really the intention to also appear neatly dressed and with a tie on the screen during a video meeting. “We have emphasized that every time since the start of the pandemic,” said strict fellow parliamentarian DeBellefeuille, who made a point of order. “We have seen that Mr. Amos’s body is in excellent condition, but we would still like to point out that he should handle his camera better.” The chairman, who overlooked the incident himself, then thanked with a big smile for the ‘useful observations’.

‘Unfortunate mistake’

“This was an unfortunate mistake, of course,” Amos later acknowledged in a statement. “My camera was accidentally turned on when I went to change after my run. I make my sincere apologies. It was really a big misunderstanding. It will not happen again.”

The images were only visible to MPs and employees. How a photo of the moment subsequently ended up in the Canadian press is not clear. There may have been a deliberate leak. “This is a warning to everyone,” rightly noted a colleague of Amos.
