Only Once Inject, WHO Permits Emergency Use of Johnson & Johnson Vaccines

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JENEWA – The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday authorized the emergency use of vaccines corona virus (Covid-19) developed by Johnson & Johnson (J&J).

The agency even added this vaccine to the COVAX program which was initiated to ensure vaccine equity for low-income countries.

As stated by the Director General of WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

“Every new tool that is safe and effective against Covid-19 is a step closer to bringing the pandemic under control.

But the hopes offered by this tool will not be realized unless it is available to everyone in all countries, “said Tedros Adhanom.

Quoted from the Market Watch page, Sunday (14/3/2021), the J&J vaccine has advantages over other vaccines, which only requires one dose.

This vaccine does not have the same cooling requirements as the vaccine developed by Pfizer and German partner BioNTech, or the vaccine developed by Moderna.

Pfizer and Moderna require two doses with time lags.

Obtaining an emergency use permit from the WHO, Johnson & Johnson stock rose 0.3 percent last Friday and 27 percent in the past 12 months.
