He said, the number of health workers in Bengkulu, who will receive the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination, is 15,736 people. Of these, there were 6,080 people who had registered.

Of the health workers who registered to be given Covid-19 vaccine injections, 178 people were not willing to be vaccinated for various reasons, so that the total health workers who were ready to be vaccinated were 5,899 people.

Of these, 1,463 people have received Covid-19 vaccination. They consist of doctors, nurses, midwives and other health workers spread across three districts and cities, namely Bengkulu City, Seluma and Bengkulu Tengah.

Meanwhile, health workers in seven other districts in Bengkulu, have not been given the Covid-19 vaccination because they are still waiting for the arrival of 11,600 vaccines from Biofarma. “This additional vaccine is expected to arrive in Bengkulu, Monday (25/1/2021). Arriving in Bengkulu, this vaccine is stored at the local pharmacy warehouse and then awaits instructions from the Ministry of Health to distribute it to seven more districts in Bengkulu,” he said.

Herwan added, although the realization of the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination in Bengkulu, was still below 15% of the target of 5,899 health workers, but he was optimistic that if the vaccine needs in 10 districts and cities had been met as expected, the implementation of vaccination could be completed according to the target.

“Now only three regencies and cities in Bengkulu, which have implemented Covid-19 vaccination, while the other seven have not implemented it. So, it is natural that the realization of vaccination is still below 15%,” he said.

To complete the Covid-19 vaccination program for health workers in Bengkulu, according to the target, the local health office has set a vaccination target for health workers as many as 150 people per day, and has prepared a virus vaccination site. corona in 193 locations consisting of 179 health centers and 14 hospitals.

Each puskesmas will provide 5 vaccinators and 10 people for each hospital. “We are optimistic that with the readiness of the vaccinators and the location of the vaccines, the target for the implementation of the corona virus vaccination in Bengkulu can be completed according to the 1.5 month target,” he said.

Regarding health workers in Bengkulu, who are not willing to be given Covid-19 vaccination, Herwan said, if health workers are not willing to be given a virus vaccination corona because they have certain diseases it is understandable, but healthy health workers who refuse to be given vaccines will be given an understanding by the local health office.

Healthcare workers who are healthy and do not have serious diseases, such as kidney, heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, and diabetes mellitus are required to get vaccinations because they are dealing with Covid-19 patients, so they are prone to exposure to this deadly virus.
