OnePlus has announced the Buds Z, a cheaper version of the OnePlus Buds presented earlier this year. The Buds Z have better water resistance and a lesser battery life than the more expensive variant.
Of Buds Z have a 40mAh battery per earpiece and a 450mAh battery in the case, OnePlus reports. That is good for five hours of listening to music without a case and twenty hours of listening with the case. The original Buds can play music for seven hours without being charged and come with the box for up to 30 hours. The Buds Z can charge for ten minutes and then listen to music for three hours, the manufacturer says.
The Buds Z have 10mm drivers for each ear and an ip55 rating for dust and water resistance, versus the Buds’ 13mm drivers and an ipx4 rating. The box is also slightly smaller due to the smaller battery. OnePlus is releasing the Buds Z this week for 59 euros. The Buds that came out this summer will remain on sale for 89 euros for the time being.
