Oneplus Nord 2 launched – Almost top model

When Oneplus released Nord CE earlier this summer, we probably did not think that a Nord 2 was relevant, but Oneplus soon took it out of us. as usual, information has been leaked in small pieces before launch so that we had a fairly clear picture of which phone is waiting for us, but now Nord 2 is official.

Where Oneplus nord was a distinct mid-price model, Nord 2 is something closer to a top model. This is especially noticeable on the Dimensity 1200 chipset, which is the fastest Mediatek has to offer and which at least sniffs at Qualcomm’s best performance. Oneplus says that they have also trimmed performance further, which the company is usually good at. So much so that their version of the chipset has been given its own name, Dimensity 1200-AI. According to Oneplus, the mobile is 65 percent faster than Nord in processing power, and 125 percent faster in graphics. Another area where you are closer to the top model is that the main camera uses the same camera sensor as Oneplus 9 and 9 Pro. Yes, not the main camera’s sensor then, but the one that sits in the wide-angle camera, with a resolution of 50 megapixels. Oneplus Nord 2 uses that sensor for the main camera and has a less ambitious 8-megapixel camera for wide angle and a depth sensor of 2 megapixels.

The screen is 6.42 inches, of the Amoled type, and has full HD resolution, as well as an increased refresh rate of 90 Hz. the battery is 4500 mAh. The phone also has stereo speakers and should have improved vibrator feedback compared to its predecessor.

Oneplus specifically mentions that the gray model has a matt glass back, while the green variant, which does not seem to be relevant for Sweden, has a leather structure on the back that is reasonably made of plastic. The blue variant is described as having a “porcelain finish”.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Oneplus is a brand under Oppo rather than an independent mobile brand, and if the system in the mobile is now called Oxygen OS 11.3 based on Android 11, but in China it is Oppos Color OS 11.3, which has the same version number. It promises two major system updates and three security updates for the mobile.

Oneplus Nord 2 5G will go on sale on July 28 at Elgiganten, Webhallen, INET, Dustin and NetOnNet. The price is SEK 4,500 for 8/128 GB memory, and SEK 5,300 for 12/256 GB.
