The next mid-range OnePlus TV in India will be so space-saving that even the OnePlus 8 smartphone screen will appear larger when it comes to the screen-to-body ratio, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said on Friday.
In terms of screen-to-body ratio, the new mid-range segment OnePlus TV reaches 95%, which is one of the highest, if not the highest at this price level, Lau said in a statement.
“By optimizing the internal design, we got rid of the conventional four-sided frame and covered the entire facade with a sheet of mat black glass. When the screen is dark, it fades into the back of the room and never draws attention to it, ”he said.
The design is different from the rounded corners used in most TVs. It has four corners at almost 90 degrees to fit the screen.
Lau explained that to get these corners clean, the company adopted a special aluminum alloy process.
“We used a single piece of aluminum alloy to cover the left, upper and right central frame to give it a more unified look instead of using three separate pieces of metal like many others do,” did he declare.
In a previous interview with Android Central, Lau said the next OnePlus TV will only measure 6.9mm at its thinnest point.
In addition to a mid-priced TV, OnePlus is set to launch new affordable OnePlus TVs that will feature a frameless immersive screen, dynamic motion picture display, and a “DCI” color gamut. -P3 ”at 93% and support for Dolby Vision.
