The OnePlus 8 Pro has just appeared on the AI Benchmark platform. The tested model is equipped with the Sapdragon 865 SoC supported by 12 GB of RAM. The result of the benchmark puts the smartphone behind the Galaxy S20 and the Xiaomi Mi 10 in the field of AI. Explanations.

The AI Benchmark platform, which measures the computing performance of smartphones in terms of artificial intelligence, has just delivered its first verdict on the OnePlus 8 Pro. With a score of 33,480, the smartphone gains 25% of performance compared to the OnePlus 7T but is lagging behind several models of the competition. It is placed just behind the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G which has a score of 33,710. The ranking is dominated by the Huawei Mate 30 Pro whose score is 2 times higher than that of OnePlus 8 Pro with 76,206 points.
All the Galaxy S20 are also better off, although far behind the Mate 30 Pro’s score. The Galaxy S20 5G (Exynos 990) scores 37,633. The worst performer in the S20 range is the basic version, which scores 36,292 points. It is also curious to note the large difference between the score of the OnePlus 8 Pro and that of the Oppo Find X2 (39,638 points), although the two smartphones are equipped with the same SoC Snapdragon 865 and supported by 12 GB of RAM.
The OnePlus 8 Pro has an excuse
The benchmark results are quite interesting and shed some light on the OnePlus 8 Pro’s AI capabilities. But the smartphone is not yet available on the market. The tested model certainly uses an unoptimized version of the system, which would have a negative effect on the overall performance of the smartphone which currently place it in 22nd place in the ranking AI Benchmark, behind smartphones like the Oppo Reno 3 or the Huawei Nova 5.
As a reminder, the presentation of OnePlus 8 Pro is expected for April 15. We already know a lot about its characteristics. It would be particularly equipped 6.7 inch 120Hz screen, 8 to 12 GB RAM to support the SoC Snapdragon 865, 4500 mAh battery and especially, for the first time in wireless charging. Finally, the smartphone would benefit from fast charging technology Super Warp Charge Tech of 50W.
