OneNote is again part of the Office Suite

Microsoft had that after a period of coexistence between the OneNote Universal app and the desktop version End of the desktop application ushered in and deleted from the Office Suite. In winter 2019, Microsoft then backpedaled and extended the support of the desktop app beyond autumn 2020 until 2023 and announced the return to the Office Suite.

As the Microsoft blog Dr. Windows when installing Microsoft 365 found, OneNote is now an official part again. The desktop app is still at the OneNote 2016 stand – a possible further development of features that have only recently been put into the universal app. As part of Microsoft 365, however, the addition “2016” was simply deleted from the program name – including a facelift on the current office icons. The desktop version is now called “OneNote”, while the universal app is listed in the Start menu as “OneNote for Windows 10”. Let’s see when Microsoft plans to finally say goodbye to the latter app.
