One of the largest e-shops in the Czech Republic is going bankrupt. Watch out for orders on it

Although it may not seem so at first glance, traders are also paying for the current problems. While it turns out that they took advantage of the constant talk of price gouging and increased the prices even more than necessary, it’s far from working for everyone. Currently, the wave of collapses of popular sellers has already begun.

Rapid growth and then a slump

Until now, they were more from the world of brick-and-mortar stores, which are struggling more with the outflow of customers. For example, Iceland grocery store, Orsay fashion store and many others went bankrupt. However, it seems that there is not even a segment that has greatly strengthened in recent years, and that is e-shops.

For example, the Slovak e-shop Dedoles, which is also very popular in the Czech Republic, has experienced extreme growth over the past two years. He literally grew up like a rocket. Last year, its sales already hit the one hundred million euro mark, i.e. some two and a half billion crowns. At the same time, the company operated in twenty different markets.

But even that is apparently not enough. In recent weeks there have been reports that Dedoles is very unwell. He has to lay off employees, is unable to pay his invoices and is desperately looking for an investor. According to behind-the-scenes information, however, so far unsuccessfully, while hopes for rescue are slowly fading.

The first of many

Today it is already clear that Dedoles has greatly overheated growth. He tried to take advantage of the favorable market situation and adapted to the high demand with the understanding that it would last forever, or that it would continue to grow for him. But that didn’t happen, this year the demand dropped and the company was left with huge stocks.

They are now trying to sell as part of the big sales. However, you should be warned before buying. The company is on the verge of bankruptcy, and if it does, people may no longer see their orders or the money they paid for them.

According to investor Ondřej Klegy, the Dedoles case is only the first of many. Other online stores are said to be in a similar situation, but not much is known about them yet. However, with worsening economic conditions, a large wave of crashes may occur.
