One of the brightest icons of Italian music and show business – Rafaela Kara, has died at the age of 78 after a long illness, Italian media reported, citing relatives of the singer.
“Rafaela has left us and traveled to a better world, where her humanity, her incomparable laughter and her exceptional talent will shine forever,” Rafaela Kara’s former companion, director Sergio Japino, told ANSA.
“With the death of Rafaela Kara, the grand lady of Italian television is leaving. A lady with great talent, passionate and human, who has accompanied us throughout our lives. Goodbye Rafaela!” Said Italian Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini.
Rafaela Kara’s real name is Maria Roberta Peloni. Rafaela Kara is her creative pseudonym. Her career began in the early 70’s, with her first big hit being A far l’amore comincia tu. Her other big hits are Tuca Tuca, which is very famous in Latin America, Ballo ballo. Most of Rafaela Kara’s songs are rhythmic dance pieces, she is also a good dancer and for decades she was the host of a number of shows on the Italian public television RAI with millions of viewers. He also starred in movies and TV series.
