One of the huge Christmas trees installed in New York housed an owl

While participating in the installation of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in New York, a worker found a surprise among the branches of the giant thorns. A young owl lived in the tree. The bird was picked up by this man before being taken care of by a wildlife rescue center. It should be returned to the wild this weekend.

While the Brussels Christmas tree was transported between Waimes and the Belgian capital on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, it is hoped that it did not take with it a “surprise”, like the New York Christmas tree. The latter was installed Tuesday, November 17 by a team of professionals in the heart of Rockefeller Center, a shopping complex located in the Manhattan district.

One of the men who worked to train this green giant was surprised to find an owl among the branches of the tree, 23 meters high. Between the transport and the installation of the tree, the animal lived three days without eating. The man then took it in at his home before handing the owl over to an association for the defense of animals.

The story, shared on Facebook by the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center, aroused emotion across the Atlantic. Once arrived at the premises of this association for the defense of animals, the owl was entitled to an “unlimited mouse buffet” and is now “ready to go”, says Ellen Kallish, founding director of the association, interviewed by Associated Press.

The plan is to release the owl to its natural habitat this weekend. All’s well That ends well.
