According to Skrastiņš, his son came into the world after a “one-night-long connection or party story” with the then student of the Academy of Culture Daci Koceri. Wanting to be a responsible person, Skrastiņš agreed to enroll himself in the birth certificate as a father, but he did not participate in raising his son and did not feel an emotional connection with him.

Having met his son only a few times, Skrastiņš decided that he did not want to be a “Sunday father” and when Dāvis grew up, the two would talk and, if he wanted to, he would be able to meet and keep in touch.

Dāvis currently lives in Norway, where he already has a family.

As you know, Skrastiņš married actress Ilze Ķuzulis-Skrastiņš at the end of 2008, and the couple is raising twins – Emilija and Marata.
