The Ministry of Education and Sports, through the Andalusian Public Agency for Education, has awarded the service of drafting the project and health and safety study, construction management, construction management management and health and safety coordination for construction of a new secondary education institute (IES) in the area of Las Salinas de Roquetas de Mar. The company Gilnagel Arquitectos SLP has been the winner of this contract, for an amount of 379.940 euros.
The territorial delegate for Education and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, Antonio Jimenez, has declared that “this Delegation is going to try to speed up the entire process as much as possible so that the tender for the work is carried out as soon as possible.”
The new institute of Las Salinas de Roquetas de Mar will be distributed in such a way that there is an area for future extensions of the center
The new educational center will be of the D4 + B2.2 typology, that is, it will have four lines of compulsory secondary and two of baccalaureate and will have a total of 620 places (480 from ESO and 140 from high school). The building will be built on a 10,480 square meter plot and will have more than 5,000 square meters built.
The teaching area of high school It will house 16 multipurpose classrooms, two music, dramatization and audiovisual classrooms, a plastic and audiovisual education classroom, a workshop classroom, two split-level classrooms and two support and pedagogical reinforcement classrooms. In the area of high school There will be four multipurpose classrooms, a drawing room, a double room and another for pedagogical support and reinforcement, as well as three laboratories, which will be shared with the ESO students, and an information and communication technology (ICT) room.
In the common teaching area, ten departments, a special education classroom with adapted toilet-changing room, library, gym with changing rooms and toilets. For its part, in the administration area the management offices, head of studies and secretariat, orientation room, office for the association of parents of the students, concierge and reprography, secretariat and archive, as well as room and toilets will be located of the teaching staff. Finally, the common services will be made up of the cafeteria, the warehouse, toilets and changing rooms for non-teaching use, the cleaning and garbage room and the facilities room.
The exterior spaces of the new institute of Las Salinas de Roquetas de Mar will be distributed in such a way that there is a area for future expansion of the center and will include a covered porch, two sports courts, a playground, a vegetable garden, a parking area for teachers and a garden area.
The construction of this new educational center, which has a estimated investment of more than 6.5 million euros, including project and work, is part of the Educational Infrastructures Plan of the Ministry of Education and Sports, which is executed through the Andalusian Public Agency for Education.
Photovoltaic and ventilation installations
The new Las Salinas institute, in Roquetas de Mar, will be equipped with photovoltaic solar panels for the production of electrical energy, in line with the aim of achieving more sustainable educational buildings and reducing their energy costs.
Likewise, it will incorporate an innovative natural ventilation system to guarantee indoor air quality designed by the Andalusian Public Agency for Education. This will be composed, in each of the classrooms, of automated windows and a CO2 sensor that will determine the level from which its opening will be activated.
