MEXICO CITY.
The reversible lanes project in Interior Circuit He started yesterday and almost finished his first day with success and without incident, but about to finish his operation a crash occurred.
According to witnesses, a motorcyclist, who apparently did not realize the adequacy, invaded the reversible and hit a private car head-on at the height of Casco de Santo Tomás, heading north-south.
Meanwhile, Luis Ruiz, director of Traffic Engineering of the Secretariat of Citizen Security, reported that the studies carried out indicate that about six thousand vehicles circulate through the reversible sections every hour.
Each vehicle carries 1.5 passengers on average, which will save around 15 minutes in traveling the La Raza-Leibnitz and Alfonso Reyes-Benjamín Franklin sections, in the mornings, and the National Army-La Raza, in the afternoons. This will save up to 11,250 hours of daily transfers to the capital, says the authority.
In a morning tour through the reversible lane, it was found that six and a half minutes were used for the transfer from La Raza to Leibnitz.
In the afternoon, the same time was used to travel the section National Navy to La Raza, although the lanes in the opposite direction looked more saturated.
The first impressions of some motorists are that the project worked well and saved between ten and 25 minutes.
