Icon Gates, co-founder and CEO of US electric car maker Tesla Motors, has overtaken Bill Gates, founder of computer technology company Microsoft, to become the world’s second richest man, according to the Bloomberg billionaire index.
Thanks to a 6.5% rise in Tesla’s share price, Mask’s wealth rose $ 7.2 billion (six billion euros) during the day to $ 127.9 billion (107.4 billion euros).
Since the beginning of the year, Mask’s wealth has increased by $ 100.3 billion (€ 84.3 billion).

At the top of the Bloomberg billionaire index is currently the head of the US Internet trading giant Amazon Jeff Bezos, whose wealth is 182 billion dollars (153 billion euros).
According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Gates’ wealth reached $ 127.7 billion (€ 107.3 billion).
Mask ranks fourth on Forbes magazine’s list of billionaires. Forbes estimates his fortune at $ 110.5 billion (€ 92.3 billion).
