On Rai5 (channel 23) Japan seen from the sky

An archipelago with beautiful landscapes, where history and modernity meet in harmony and where traditions, the legacy of a long cultural and spiritual history, are always alive. Japan is a country that fascinates and makes you dream, inhabited by a people with a mysterious soul, which hides and reveals itself through the veil of discretion and confidentiality. From Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, the new first-run series shot in 4K “Japan seen from the sky”, broadcast from Sunday 28 June at 9.15 pm on Rai5, makes a five-stage journey to take a snapshot of Japan in the 21st century. From the peaks of Mount Fuji to the magic of the cherry trees in bloom, this series tells through breathtaking images the places and people who are changing the present to give a face to the future of this nation. The purpose of this dream trip will be to capture the essence, contradictions and colors of a culture that honors tradition without renouncing progress and innovation.
The first episode, entitled “The great North: Hokkaido”, starts from Lake Mashu, one of the most beautiful in Japan, towards the Kushiro Shitsugen National Park where the bird symbol of the country nests, and then reaches the peninsulas of Shiretoko and Nemuro. Parks, landscapes apparently unchanged for centuries and spas are the stages of the journey to Sapporo, where an exciting encounter with the Ainu people awaits us.
