JAKARTA, investor.id – PT OMRON Healthcare Indonesia, a leader in home health monitoring and healthcare technology, today launched two blood pressure meters (Blood Pressure Monitor) digital for consumers in Indonesia.
The OMRON HEM-7361T and OMRON HEM-7156 monitors allow users to more easily and accurately monitor their daily blood pressure to keep hypertension and other hypertension-related diseases at bay, which is important for preventing and controlling COVID-19 infection.
These two products were introduced at a critical time, when society is facing the COVID-19 pandemic which has infected more than 34 million people and caused the death of more than one million people worldwide.
It was also reported that hypertension is one of the largest comorbidities (comorbid) in COVID-19 patients, with a percentage of 15.8%, followed by heart disease (11.7%) and diabetes (9.4%), according to meta data analysis. Research Square in 2020.

“The HEM-7361T and HEM-7156 Automatic Blood Pressure Monitors launched today are connected devices, are more accurate, easier to use and have a variety of features that are especially suited for people at high risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease,” said Watanabe.
The HEM-7361T Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor is designed with Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB) advanced screening technology.
According to the Indonesian Heart Association (IHA), AFIB is an arrhythmia (heart rhythm disorder) that occurs most frequently in everyday life with a prevalence of 1-2% and continues to increase.
In three modes of reading blood pressure measurements, this device can detect possible AFIB with clinically validated accuracy, so users can consult a doctor and get early intervention to prevent stroke or heart failure.
The HEM-7361T comes with Bluetooth wireless connectivity which allows the user to synchronize daily blood pressure measurement from this device to OMRON Connect App easily and track heart health anytime.
The device also detects irregular heartbeats. An irregular heartbeat is a heart rate that is more than 25% of the average heart rhythm detected when the device is measuring blood pressure.
IntelliWrap easily fits on the arm, allowing accurate and comfortable readings. While Technology IntelliSense applies the right amount of pressure for fast, accurate, and more comfortable measurement.
Another important feature is Hypertension Indicator (Hypertension Indicator), with a heart rate symbol that flashes when the systolic or diastolic pressure is outside the standard range (above 135 systolic / 85 diastolic mmHg).
This device also has a function Dual Users x 100 Memories, which allows the couple to maintain joint health, by averaging the last three readings and Body Movement Detection (Body Movement Detection).
Accuracy is one of the most important requirements in measuring blood pressure. Other key features of the HEM-7156 are the Hypertension Indicator, with average of the last three readings, detection of body movements, and the ability to store 60 complete measurements with date and time information.
Indonesian Hypertension Association (Indonesian Society of Hypertension/ InaSH) emphasizes that hypertension is one of the most dangerous co-morbidities of COVID-19 and recommends people to monitor their blood pressure more intensely during the pandemic.
InaSH also revealed that hypertension is the main comorbid found in cases of death due to COVID-19 in Indonesia, followed by heart disease, kidney failure, diabetes and stroke.
