Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Symptoms Covid-19 varian Omicron which you may know is fever, coughto sore throat.

However, it turns out that not everyone who is exposed to Covid-19 experiences these three symptoms. In fact, there are many patients, especially children, who do not experience these symptoms at all.

The doctor who is also the Head of the Covid-19 Task Force of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI) Yogi Prawira said that SARS-CoV-2 is a systemic virus that does not only attack the respiratory tract. This virus can attack other organs of the body, one of which is the digestive tract.

“Especially in children. There are children who don’t have fever, don’t cough, don’t have a sore throat, it turns out that it’s Covid-19. The symptoms are, for example, stomach pain and diarrhea. This must be alert,” said Yogi in a webinar held by BNPB, some time ago.

The following are three dominant symptoms that are usually experienced by children and must be watched out for as the Omicron variant of Covid-29.

1. Diarrhea

If the child complains of abdominal pain and diarrhea, parents should be vigilant. It could be that the child is exposed to Covid-19 which directly attacks the gastrointestinal tract.

2. Vomiting

Nausea and vomiting can also be a sign that your child has been exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19.

You must know, Covid-19 is actually not a disease that only attacks the respiratory tract, but can attack systemically and enter any organ.

“Because there are children whose dominant symptoms are in the gastrointestinal tract, for example, he vomits and has diarrhea, stomach pain but does not have a cold,” said Yogi.

3. Inflammation of the intestines

When doctors find that their child has colitis, parents need to be aware of the threat of Covid-19.
