OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha Mavericks women’s soccer team embarks on a challenging two-match road trip, facing Drake on September 1st and No. 20 Oklahoma on September 3rd.
The Mavericks (2-3-0) are looking to build momentum after a recent goal by sophomore defender Isabelle Milne, assisted by Kendall Dobberstein and Presley Douglas, narrowed a deficit in their last outing. Payten Ivins currently leads Omaha with two goals this season, while Blanche Vacchiani Brethes and Lauren Schmidt each have two assists, and Dobberstein has tallied three. Goalkeeper Hayley Ogden boasts a .800 save percentage with two key saves across three starts.
Omaha holds a 5-4 all-time series advantage over Drake, having most recently defeated the Bulldogs 2-0 in September 2024 at Caniglia Field. Drake enters the contest with a 2-2-2 record, led by senior forward Eve Blakey, who has scored five goals and was named missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week on August 26th.
Following the Drake match, Omaha will travel to Norman, Oklahoma, to face the undefeated Sooners (6-0-6). Oklahoma is off to its best start since 2022, and sophomore forward Kayla Keefer has been a key offensive contributor with goals in three of their six matches. Junior goalkeeper Caroline Duffy has recorded three clean sheets for Oklahoma. the game is scheduled for 1 p.m. at John Crain Field.
