The coronavirus is now part of our daily lives and everyone knows the symptoms of the disease, namely sore throat, cough, fever, as well as breathing difficulties. However, other mild signs may be linked to a probable infection with Covid-19. This is particularly the case with eye infection.

Doctors have warned that eye infections could be another symptom of the coronavirus. Health officials believe that conjunctivitis develops in about 1 to 3% of patients, according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Chelsey Earnest, a nurse at the Life Care Center in Washington, said red eyes are the “most important” sign that patients have with Covid-19. “They have, like… allergic eyes. The white part of the eye is not red. It’s more like they have red eye shadow on the outside of their eyes, ”she told CNN.
Oliver, 11, in intensive care
Little Oliver, 11, suffered from such symptoms. His eyes were bloodshot, but he also had muscle pain. In fact, the boy from Pennsylvania had contracted multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MISC-C), a disease with characteristics similar to “Kawasaki”, which mainly affects children.
Hospitalized, Oliver tested positive for the virus, even before being diagnosed with MISC-C. His mom Aimee speaks to WPXI: “The scariest thing for my husband and I is not knowing. It’s new, so there is no research. We don’t know what the long term effects will be for him, what his future will look like ”.
Fortunately, the little boy was able to return home. His family is now raising funds to pay for care related to his illness. To ActionNews4, Oliver explains that he is “hopeful that I will be able to start riding again very soon”. “It’s what I love to do and I don’t feel the same without riding every day,” he adds.
