As a sign of its continued commitment to the island, and in complete confidence in the reopening of the market in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Olive Garden opens its sixth restaurant in Puerto Rico – and the first in the southern area – in Santa Isabel.
With an investment of over $ 2.6 million and the creation of 92 jobs, the new Olive Garden also breaks new ground by being the first “casual dining” restaurant to offer self-service.
For Jorge Colón Gerena, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Grupo Colón Gerena, the holding company of the Olive Garden franchise in Puerto Rico, “This is more than a new restaurant, it is a symbol of the recovery of commercial activity in Puerto Rico, which has experienced so much adversity in recent years. Puerto Ricans want to return to work, return to normalcy, but with caution and caution, since this does not mean that the threat of the pandemic has ended. ”
For her part, Lizmarie Medina, vice president of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer of the parent company, commented: “Olive Garden arrives in Santa Isabel in full compliance with the latest regulations established by the Executive Order. This means operating with a 25% capacity in the dining room, in addition to the implementation of the strictest health and hygiene protocols to ‘flatten’ the contagion curve. For this reason, we are launching innovations such as a one-stop service, to give diners more options of security and convenience ”.
The new Olive Garden of Santa Isabel located in Plaza Prados del Sur, is one of the few brands in its category to continue with expansion plans, thus demonstrating business strength and continued commitment to the development of the local business ecosystem. The restaurant also incorporates the new design aesthetic the brand recently launched, with Renaissance-style interior design, pleasant lighting, and modern music.
Some of the dishes on its menu that have conquered the Puerto Rican palate and that will be available in this new place are: the Tour of Italy, Fettuccine Alfredo, the Lasagna Fritta appetizer, the famous unlimited salad and breadsticks, among others.
