LEEUWARDEN – The Fries Film Archive has discovered new film images from the Eleven Cities Tours of 1954 and 1956. It concerns two color films made by Sjoerd Steensma from Leeuwarden. Steensma’s recordings from 1954 are, as far as is known, the oldest color images of the Elfstedentocht. The tour of tours of 1954 was driven on February 3, 1954, Monday exactly 66 years ago.
