Old man drowned while fishing in New York

Jan Zdenek, an 82-year-old man, drowned yesterday while fishing for crabs in Long Island (NY), authorities said.

Zdenek, a Sayville resident, was crabbing at the West Sayville Docks on West Avenue when he went into the water at 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Sayville Police Department. Suffolk county.

Bystanders pulled Zdenek out of the water and tried to resuscitate him. The elderly man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, reported Pix11. There were no further details about the deadly incident at this time.
