A Cultural Shift Towards Tangible Technology
Sofia Hagelin, Head of Communications at Tradera, attributes this resurgence to a broader cultural movement. She explains that this trend is fueled by a desire for technology that is tangible and understandable, offering a sense of “analog comfort” amidst the pervasive digital landscape.
“We see a counter-movement against the ever-connected and invisible digital,” Hagelin stated in a press release. “Many peopel long for technology you can touch, understand, and own, as a kind of analogous comfort in a digital noise. This is the same trend that drives interest in button phones, digital cameras, and CD players. Amiga and other retro computers become part of a larger cultural wave.”
This growing appreciation for vintage technology suggests that old computers, frequently enough overlooked, could represent unexpected value for their owners.
