After all, Czech Octagon middleweight champion Patrik Kincl won’t be defending his title against compatriot Karlos Vémol on December 30 at Prague’s O2 Arena. He withdrew from dueling due to injury.

“My biggest fear is that the match won’t happen,” Kincl seemed to predict when the rivals met a month ago they met face to face. Vémola has been limited by health issues in recent months. On Tuesday he was admitted to hospital with severe inflammation in his body. He was accompanied by fevers and other complications. He had a thrombosis, it also cost him his life.

Destructive match of the year? Vémola is in hospital, it is said that his life was at stake!

Vémola: I was in bad shape. 9 out of 10 wouldn’t

“Wednesday I was really sick, for the first time I didn’t think about the next game. The doctor stayed with me all evening. He said 9 out of 10 people wouldn’t. He was afraid. Apparently, I have strong roots and I wanted to be here” Vemola said from her bed isport.cz. According to his own words, she will remain in the hospital for a few more weeks. At the moment the return to training is in sight.

Vémola returned in May after a 14-month break caused by severe inflammation in his elbow. Last year, in trying to prepare for his July fight with Samuel “Pirate” Krištofič, he underestimated his recovery from previous surgery on his right shoulder. In training, he overloaded his left arm and got an inflamed elbow. According to his own words, his triceps, weakened by inflammation, gave out when he fell during sparring.

“I have no prospects for when or if I will ever wrestle again”, he said then the first Czech in the UFC.

He’s back on the carousel of matches after a forced break at a crazy pace. He completed three duels between May 21 and July 23. In an exhibition boxing he defeated rapper Otakar “Marpa” Petřina, at the premiere of the Octagon in Germany, he defeated Michal Pasternak from Poland and won the light heavyweight title against Serbian Aleksandar Ilič in Štvanice.

Kincl before fight of the year: Vémola damages MMA. Terminator reports an attempt to write…

Kincl: You have yourself to blame

Kincla was upset by Vémol’s resignation. He accused him of underestimating his recovery from previous injuries. “I will enter the match even if I die. Or that’s what happened”, Kincl quotes the words of Vémol, who assured him a month ago that the match would take place.

“The hospital stay is to blame for you. As a professional athlete, he should take care of himself one hundred percent. We all had the opportunity to witness his various parties during the preparation period, which are absolutely not compatible with the quality regeneration.Injuries are common in MMA, but here, according to available information, the same thing is being faced.

Although it looks very “cool” on social networks, when a person runs straight from the hospital to the gym, but then it ends exactly like that. I would like those who admire this style so much and would like to imitate it to notice. Recovery and recuperation are part of training hard!” Kincl said on Instagram.

The potential replacement is ranked above Vémol

“We are currently negotiating several replacements for the champion,” Oktagon said in a statement on Vémol’s retirement. Paradoxically, Vémola Ilič’s last opponent could be Kincla’s replacement.

Though he lost in the 1st round during his Octagon debut for the light heavyweight title in July, a month later he sensationally knocked out Russian star Alexander Shlemenko after 22 seconds into the RCC organization at his natural middleweight.

“Ilič is definitely an interesting option. Without a doubt,” replied Oktagon promoter Ondřej Novotný, asking if Vémola could be replaced by a Serbian. Ilič, with a 14-5 record, is the 53rd best middleweight in the world. Kincl is 52nd, Vémola 59th.

Third-place finisher Samuel “Pirát” Krištofič, who lost to Kincl in February and has since defeated current number four, Zdenek Polívka, is also being considered according to the organization’s middleweight rankings.
