OJK is ready to face a Bosowa law suit related to Bank Bukopin

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) respects the planned lawsuit that will be carried out by PT Bosowa Corporation related to the takeover of PT Bank Bukopin by KB Kookmin Bank.

“OJK certainly respects legal rights if anyone feels disturbed, however OJK also has data and facts considerations to be able to measure aspects of financial capacity, commitment including immediate resolution of problems,” Deputy OJK Deputy Commissioner for Public Relations and Logistics Anto PRabowo told Kontan.co.id , Tuesday (7/21).

Anto said the OJK did not have a preference for choosing certain investors for the bank, the main consideration of the OJK was merely the commitment of potential investors to maintain the sustainability of the bank’s business.

In addition, the FSA also assesses the financial ability of investors, as well as the potential to provide added value to the national economy.

“We have also given sufficient time and provide equal opportunities to all shareholders to immediately resolve bank problems,” continued Anto.

Previously, President Commissioner of Bosowa Erwin Aksa said he would file a lawsuit both in civil and through the State Administrative Court (PTUN) because he considered the OJK to be inconsistent in taking policies related to Bank Bukopin’s rescue measures.

This is related to OJK’s orders related to technical assistance in the context of saving Bank Bukopin. On June 10, 2020, June 11, 2020 OJK ordered BRI to provide technical assistance, then on June 16 OJK asked Kookmin to also provide technical assistance.
