On a visit since yesterday Thursday in Ogooué-Lolo, the Head of State was treated to a warm welcome both in the department of Offoué-Onoye and Mulundu, the first two stages of a journey of three days in this province. In Iboundji and Lastourville, Ali Bongo Ondimba met respectively with the Federation of agricultural cooperatives and with women traders and young people in these two localities. “These fruitful and convivial exchanges were an opportunity for these populations to submit their daily grievances to the Head of State, in particular the problem of human-wildlife conflict and youth unemployment. The President of the Republic, who advocates the development of the agricultural sector and the empowerment of women and young people, reassured his interlocutors about State aid in the management of the human-wildlife conflict, effective for all those concerned. within imminent deadlines”, underlines a press release from the Gabonese presidency.

The host of Ogooué-Lolo visited the Dry Port of Lastourville. During this stage, he exchanged with notables and economic operators in the local wood sector.

Inaugurated on November 12, 2018, this infrastructure is responsible for storing, managing and transporting timber transformed into containers from forest factories to the Owendo Container Terminal (OCT). Realized with the assistance of the administration of the Ministry of Water and Forests, the Customs services, SETRAG and the Bolloré́ Group, the new 14,000 m2 logistics platform, connected to the rail network operated by SETRAG, helps to streamline and optimize the process. for transporting the products of the four main forestry companies in the province of Ogooué́ Lolo with a capacity of 350,000 tonnes of wood transported per year. “Through the implementation of this structure, the Gabonese government has undertaken, in accordance with the Transformation Acceleration Plan, to materialize the vision of the Head of State who aims to make Gabon an industrial hub”, indicates the Gabonese presidency.
