Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al Ahly’s football director, announced that the summit match against Zamalek would be postponed for an hour, after it was scheduled to start at half past seven in the evening.

In statements to Al-Ahly media center, Abdul Hafeez confirmed that the competitions committee notified Al-Ahly officials to postpone the match for an hour.

He added that the reason for postponing the start of the match was due to the late arrival of the Zamalek mission, as the Red Team mission to Cairo Stadium arrived late to the referees’ team.

For his part, the Football Association confirmed on its official website that the referee, Lithuanian referee Gediminas Masika, the referee of the summit match, decided to postpone the match for an hour to start at eight thirty in the evening.

The Football Association pointed out that the decision to postpone the summit for 60 minutes came after consulting with the match observer and the Director of the Competitions Department in the federation, given the wave of rain and bad weather.

And Cairo witnessed a situation of heavy traffic congestion as a result of heavy rains during the last hours.

Al-Ahly will meet Al-Zamalek at Cairo International Stadium in a postponed match from the fourth round of the Premier League competition.

It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly tops the Egyptian league standings with 45 points, bringing them to victory in 15 consecutive games, while Zamalek comes third and has 31 points.
