Officially, Cooking Oil Price Becomes IDR 14,000 Per Liter Starting January 19

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government has officially implemented a one-price policy for cooking oil, which is Rp. 14,000.00 per liter, which is effective from tomorrow, Wednesday (19/1/2022).

“The implementation of the one-price policy for cooking oil, which is Rp. 14,000 per liter, will begin on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 00.00 WIB throughout Indonesia,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto when chairing the BPDPKS Steering Committee Meeting, Tuesday (18 /1/2022).

However, specifically for traditional markets, said Airlangga, adjustment time will be given no later than 1 week from the effective date.

Airlangga explained, packaged cooking oil with a special price will be provided as much as 250 million liters per month for a period of 6 months.

The government will also continue to monitor and evaluate regularly, at least once a month, related to the implementation of this policy.

Airlangga added that efforts to close the price difference were not only given to 1 liter packaged cooking oil, but also to 2 liter, 5 liter and 25 liter packaged cooking oil.

“In this meeting it was decided that for the difference in cooking oil prices, funding support from the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) would be 7.6 trillion rupiah,” said Airlangga.
