Official NYPD resignation following allegations of child sexual abuse – Telemundo New York (47)

A New York City police officer, previously accused of exposing himself to minors, resigned after his arrest Monday on new charges of child sexual abuse, the NYPD reported.

Shaun Frazier, 40, with six years of service, is accused of forcing an 11-year-old girl to perform oral sex on him, in addition to exposing himself and showing himself in a pornographic video, according to the police officer.

The alleged abuse occurred between April 12 and April 30, 2017.

Frazier, a Brooklyn resident, was arrested for the first time in 2019, for making explicit sexual advances towards a friend’s 10-year-old daughter while caring for her.

Earlier this month, Frazier was indicted in Brooklyn Supreme Court on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The former police officer allegedly made explicit sexual advances to two more girls in 2018, police said.

Police arrested Frazier on Saturday on the most recent charge in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. He waived extradition and was turned over to law enforcement in Brooklyn on Monday to face charges of criminal sexual act, sexual abuse and endangering the well-being of a child.

Frazier was assigned to the Building Maintenance Section of the New York Police Department.

His attorney, Douglas Rankin, told reporters that he visits Pennsylvania because he frequents nearby casinos and that at no time did he try to avoid arrest.

Rankin claimed that the above allegations are connected and false, so he hopes his client will be exonerated.

Frazier is awaiting trial in Brooklyn criminal court.
