Official: Liam Fraser, Canadian international, signs with Deinze – The latest transfers

The fight for the rise in D1A will be fierce as all the candidates are getting stronger: Deinze has announced the arrival of a Canadian international.

Liam Fraser (23 years old), 10 times international (1 goal) and who was notably picked up in recent months during Canada’s good performances in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, signed for 2.5 seasons at Deinze. He arrives free from Toronto FC and had played 24 games last season under the colors of the Columbus Crew, where he was on loan. Fraser is a trained defensive midfielder but can also play in central defense.

“It will be a big change because I think the pressure to win is much higher in Europe than in MLS,” Fraser told Deinze’s official website. “But it’s a logical step in my professional career. The club is very ambitious and the whole project spoke to me”. Deinze is currently 4th in D1B and if Westerlo seems to be in the lead (34 points), the race is fierce for second place, synonymous with play-offs, with 5 teams on 6 points.
