OFFICIAL: League 1 and League 2 2020 Continued Early October Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The top two Indonesian soccer competitions, namely League 1 and League 2, will continue in October 2020.

This was announced directly by the Chairperson of PSSI, Mochammad Iriawan, at the Senayan Sports Tower (MOS), FX Sudirman, Jakarta, Sunday (6/28/2020).

The decision to continue the two competition conditions is summarized in a Decree (SK) with SKEP / 53 / VI / 2020 number dated June 27, 2020.

In addition to League 1 and League 2, League 3 2020 which has not yet begun will also roll on October 2020.

However, Mochamad Iriawan still could not confirm the exact date of the start of the competition.

“Through this decree, officially the League 1, League 2 and League 3 competitions will be continued in October 2020,” said the man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule.

“I hope that the beginning of October can run. After this letter is released, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) will hold an internal meeting to arrange the schedule,” said Iwan Bule.

“There are still about three months to arrange this,” said Iwan Bule added.

In his statement, Iwan Bule explained eight factors that made PSSI continue League 1, League 2 and League 3.

First, PSSI wants to make football a tool used by Indonesia to adapt to new normal or new normal situations.

“Now Europe and Asia have restarted the competition. If we don’t start too, we don’t know when the competition can return,” Mochammad Iriawan said.

The second factor is that Indonesia has received FIFA sanctions which prevented the competition from running.

Iwan Bule said that FIFA sanctions had a negative impact on Indonesian football so that it did not want to be repeated now.

The third to sixth factor is about the Indonesian national team of various ages.

In essence, Iwan Bule did not want the national team of various ages overwhelmed when participating in international tournaments because the competition in Indonesia stopped.

The seventh factor is that PSSI must continue the competition because it is the mandate of the congress.

Finally, PSSI chose to continue the competition because it did not want the economic impact already experienced by various groups in football to continue to swell.
