Office Cluster in Jakarta Increases, Epidemiologist Suggests WFH to be Implemented Again

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Epidemiologist Griffith University Australia Dicky Budiman suggested that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government re-implement the policy of working from home or work from home (WFH).

The tightening of WFH policies is to reduce the spread of Covid-19 through office cluster which increased rapidly in the past week in DKI Jakarta.

“My appeal is all agencies like Jakarta, local government (offices) and ministries. Anyway (offices) in Jakarta, including other big cities in Indonesia, apply the WFH,” said Dicky when contacted via voice message, Sunday (25/4 / 2021).

According to Dicky, WFH is very important to suppress office clusters in DKI Jakarta because WFH can reduce interactions and the potential for people to be infected.

He also reminded the heads of agencies, both government and private, that began requiring employees or employees to work in offices or work from office (WFO) so as not to forget the dangers of Covid-19.

Especially if you think that if you have been vaccinated, it means that employees can enter fully.

“People who have been vaccinated does not mean they cannot be infected, because people who are vaccinated can also infect,” he said.

Dicky also urged the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government not to be tempted to make concessions when the trend of the Covid-19 case decreased.

“We have to (tighten again) this WFH, we don’t do a little bit because the downward trend is direct easing everywhere,” he said.
