Office 365 users can set unlimited number of + addresses in Exchange – Computer – News

Office 365 users can now use an unlimited number of suffix email addresses. By adding a + after an address, they can create a unique address for a specific purpose. The feature can be used for Exchange Online.

With so-called plus addressing, Exchange Online users can create a unique e-mail address that is automatically sent to their normal account. For example, instead of using [email protected] everywhere, users can use [email protected] when subscribing to a particular newsletter. This is useful for keeping different services separate and for identifying the source of spam or leaked data. Some other email providers, especially Gmail, have supported that for years.

The feature is now also in Exchange Online on Office 365, Microsoft says. Microsoft already announced at its Ignite conference last year that the feature would appear at the end of 2020. The position was one of them the most requested on the Microsoft forums.

Admins must manually enable the feature via PowerShell, Microsoft says. The company has for that put instructions online. The feature is currently only available for individual addresses within Exchange. Support for mailing lists and groups will also be available in December.
