One of the greatest Austrian goalie talents will continue his training in Germany from the coming season.
Matteo Bignetti moves from the SK Sturm youngsters to Eintracht Frankfurt’s performance center. The “kicker” reported. In Germany, the youngster will receive a three-year contract until June 30, 2023, just in time for his 16th birthday.
“We have been watching Matteo’s career for two years. He has proven his skills both in the club and in the national team. We are very pleased that we were able to bring him to Frankfurt, ”said Holger Müller, youth coordinator at Eintracht.
Bignetti: “The club has a good plan”
Allegedly, several other clubs were also interested in the 1.86-meter goalie. “It has always been my goal to move to a top club abroad. The club tried very hard for me, I had a good feeling from the start. I also like the training area very much, the club has a good plan with me. I am also grateful to my old club SK Sturm Graz for the good training and I am looking forward to giving everything for Frankfurt from summer ”, explained the young talent.
“Matteo has become the target of many European clubs due to its great potential and achievements, so we are all the more happy that he chose us despite numerous offers. About the GAK to storm
Bignetti gained his first experience with the GAK offspring and then switched to the city rival Sturm in 2016, where he was last used in the U18. The Styrian is also the current U16 team goal of the ÖFB. Hermann Stadler’s selection usually stands between the posts right from the start.
The SK Sturm will still get over the departure, as Graz have Luka Maric (17) and Christopher Giuliani (20), two other hot future stocks on the goalkeeper position in their ranks.
