The October update for Windows 10 (version 20H2) has been officially released by Microsoft. Theoretically, all users of the “dozen” who look at Windows Update and use the button Check for updatesso they should see the possibility of downloading the system update to version 20H2.
At the beginning, however, the October update will probably only be available to some people – those whose computers according to Microsoft’s algorithms are ready to update. Windows 10 20H2 is undoubtedly the most important update of the “ten” in the second half of 2020, but it’s worth knowing that from a technical point of view it is not bigas Microsoft used to market it.
Indeed, along with the upgrade, you can count on a few novelties in the system, but the update itself is in practice only a switch for the options that hit Windows 10 earlier, along with the 20H1 version in the first half of this year – we wrote more about it, among others here.
When deciding to install Windows 10 20H2, it is worth bearing in mind that something may go wrongand therefore it is worth taking care of a backup of your files beforehand. Although in practice we are dealing with only a small patch that activates several functions, Microsoft has accustomed us to the fact that each Windows 10 update (including the “small” one) can be troublesome for some users. The coming days and the first comments will show if anything has been improved this time.
