Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – October 2020 car sales are a critical period for Nissan in Indonesia. In wholesales, only 37 units were recorded.
This achievement when compared with September sales fell by 97%. Meanwhile, on an annual basis or compared to October 2019, it also drops up to 92%.
In fact, Nissan sales in the previous two months experienced a sharp jump. In August 2020, it had penetrated 6,829 units. Even in the same month, one of the Nissan models, the All New Nissan Livina, was surprisingly able to rank first in car sales for wholesalers or from factories to dealers with a number reaching 6,338 units in August 2020. Nissan Livina was able to become a ‘silent killer’ for the Avanza, which only able to stay in 17th position.
All New Livina sales growth skyrocketed from the previous month which only sold 114 units. In the circulating market, sales of the All New Livina in August were boosted due to a massive discount program by dealers. The discount given reaches tens of millions of rupiah.
In October 2020, car sales were still controlled by Toyota, which recorded sales of 16,419 units, followed by Daihatsu with 8,289 units. Honda is in third place with a score of 7,732 units.
