NYPD Shoots 2 Dogs in Brooklyn After They Allegedly Attacked Police Officer – NBC New York

NEW YORK — A dog attack is being investigated in Brooklyn after one of the animals bit an officer in the head, the New York police said Sunday.

The nightly attack occurred shortly after 8 pm on Neptune Avenue in Seagate.

Police said they responded to the address for reports that a wanted person was there. As police officers approached, the person ran into the house and the dogs ran out.

Neighbors said the dogs are sweet and couldn’t believe the two of them would bite someone.

The officer who received the bite is also expected to survive.

Police confirmed that both dogs were shot. The animals were taken to veterinarians and both were still alive as of early Monday morning.

Congresswoman Inna Vernikov wrote on her Twitter account that the officer had been bitten in the head and had shot two dogs.

The investigation is ongoing.
