NYPD officers and a former officer face bribery charges for seizing cars for a single beneficiary: Authorities

NEW YORK – Two active NYPD officers and a former NYPD officer are arrested by the FBI and the NYPD Home Affairs Department on charges related to bribery and conspiracy for allegedly directing the tow jobs from the department to a single company, law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the case told NBC 4 New York on Friday.

At least two of them worked at the 107th Barracks in Queens, law enforcement officials said.

The defendants include former NYPD officer Michael Perri of Bayside, who worked for the towing company and was allegedly involved in bribing the two current NYPD officers, Giancarlo Soma of Deer Park and James Davneiro, as well. from Bayside, to direct all towing work from his barracks to Perri’s company, officials said.

The three defendants are expected to appear in federal court in Brooklyn on the bribery-related charges later Friday, authorities said.

Attempts are being made to locate the attorneys for the defendants. An email to the Police Benevolent Association was not immediately returned.

Spokesmen for the FBI, the United States Attorney’s Office and the New York Police Department declined to comment on the case.
