NYC students will receive more COVID home tests

City public school students will receive four home COVID tests each week, until further notice.

The Department of Education ensures that two tests are for the student and the other two are for other family members.

Students will also receive two additional tests if someone else in their class tests positive, along with a letter explaining that they might have been exposed to the virus.

If any student tests positive, they will need to self-isolate for five days and wear a mask at school for up to 10 days afterward.

Last month, the city lifted the mask mandate for students in kindergarten through age 12.
