The city of New York promotes the Summer Pass Program for high school students (High School Summer Pass), precisely this week when most campuses prepare for the holidays.
Now, New York teenagers from 14 to 19 years old are invited to stay physically active, with free access to the chain of gyms Planet Fitnesswhich has 41 locations, in all five boroughs.
The free ‘pass’ will be until next August 31.
Mayor Eric Adams and the Chancellor of Schools, David C. Banksaccompanied this Thursday 15 student athletes at Boys and Girls High School, in Brooklyn, to promote this summer plan among students in the Big Apple.
“It is important to offer activities to our youth to keep them busy and out of danger”, said the municipal manager.
In this sense, Banks stressed that the key to the program is to offer “Health & Wellness”.
In addition, the participants of the ‘Summer Pass’ program have access to 15 Trainer-Led Workout Videos and 10 exclusive downloadable exercises for teens of all fitness levels.
Beyond the exercises, other advice alternatives are offered for a healthy diet. Parents and guardians will be able to download a free digital copy of the cookbook Family Table de Robert Irvine after students enroll.

All participants in this program will also automatically enter a raffle promoted by Planet Fitness throughout the country, where one winner from each state will receive a $500 scholarship to be used for educational programs. And a grand prize $5,000 at the end of the summer.
