NY will not cancel any appointment due to lack of J&J vaccine

The reduction in the distribution of doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is expected next week, poses inconveniences for the distribution chain in the state.

However, Governor Cuomo acknowledged that while the number of doses to be received will be significantly reduced, it will not be necessary to cancel any vaccination appointments.

In a statement Cuomo said in part: “In week 18, New York will receive only 34,900 injections from Johnson & Johnson, a drop of 88%, from recent deliveries, and the first decrease in weeks, although it should not be canceled. No appointments, we will not be able to inoculate as many New Yorkers as we would like. We hope that the production problems will be resolved as soon as possible and that production will increase rapidly so that we can expand the number of New Yorkers vaccinated.
