Nvidia only keeps GTC 2020 online due to coronavirus – Computer – News

Nvidia will only hold its Gpu Technology Conference online this year. The tech company does this because of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The event was to take place in San Jose between 22 and 26 March. Held presentations will be published online in the coming weeks.

Nvidia gives in a blog post that there are “growing concerns” about the corona virus. For this reason, the company has made the decision to keep the event exclusively online. The company works with attendees to publish their presentations online ‘in the coming weeks’. For attendees who are part of Nvidia’s developer program there is the possibility to ask technical questions to researchers, technicians and solution architects from Nvidia.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will also hold a keynote this year, which can be viewed exclusively via a live stream. The company is expected to announce its upcoming Amp-gpu architecture. The company says it does not yet have an exact date for the keynote, but it says it is working on a schedule.

Nvidia is not the first tech manufacturer to cancel an event due to the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. That is how the telecom fair MWC 2020 canceled in February because of the virus. Last weekend became the Game Developer Conference 2020 also postponed until ‘later in the summer’. Earlier today Microsoft canceled its Dutch Ignite The Tour event. This event was to take place in Amsterdam later this month.
