Nurses in Britain prepare for unprecedented strike |

London ∙ Nurses employed by the government in Great Britain go on strike on 15 and 20 December to demand a salary increase. This is the first time in a century that the nurses union has gone on strike. This is in a situation where there have been many discussions with the government but no results have been seen.

Health Minister Steve Barclay said the demand for nurses could not be implemented in the midst of a severe financial crisis. Britain is facing the highest inflation rate (11.1%) in 4 decades, sending the cost of living out of control. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will be challenged when the nurses’ strike continues.
