A Polish nurse has been sentenced to life in Germany for the murder of three elderly patients. In court in Munich, 38-year-old Pole apologized to the next of kin for his “very cruel” actions. He did not want to give further testimony.

The man, himself a diabetes patient, injected the victims with insulin while they had no diabetes at all. The case started rolling in March 2018, when German police announced that the man may have claimed further victims in addition to an 87-year-old man. In the nurse’s house, the police found two bank cards with the victim’s pin codes.

The chance that the man will be released early after fifteen years, as is sometimes possible in Germany with a life sentence, is excluded in this case, according to German media.
