Number of corona patients in hospital to 2358, number of positive tests almost the same | Inland

People with Covid-19 make up the majority of all patients currently on ICs. There are a total of 985, including the two that were transferred to Münster in Germany last week. Hospitals are expanding their intensive care capacity towards 1350. In emergencies, that number can increase further to 1700.

The National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS) reported the latest figures on Tuesday. According to the center, 30 patients have been transferred from one region to another in the last 24 hours. This is done to spread the pressure as much as possible among hospitals in the country. Six of the patients who were moved are on the ic.

In the past 24 hours, 10,315 positive corona tests have been reported, almost the same as Monday.

Illnesses

The number of new corona infections seems to be stabilizing somewhat. 10,315 positive tests were recorded between Monday morning and Tuesday morning. On Monday, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) reported 10,346 infections. Initially there were 10,353, but that number has been adjusted. On Sunday, 10,200 cases were added.

In the last seven days, 67,542 positive tests have been recorded. Last week, the RIVM reported 55,587 new cases in the week before. The number of new reports is increasing less quickly than in the previous week. “That is probably the effect of the measures that came into effect at the end of September and mid-October,” said the RIVM.

R-number

The reproduction number, which indicates how quickly the coronavirus is spreading, has dropped slightly, from 1.22 to 1.16. That means that a group of 100 infected people infects 116 others, which in turn infect about 146 people. In this way, the virus spreads further and faster. The cabinet wants to reduce the reproduction number to below 1, so that the corona virus is slowly extinguished.
