The NPO Radio 5 program Ron Wacht Op De Nacht by Ron Brandsteder disappears from the radio due to changes in the programming. The last broadcast will be at the end of December, Omroep MAX has announced.
The 73-year-old Brandsteder has been making radio for the broadcaster since 2014 and with his current program since 2019. He calls it a ‘very shame’ that he has to stop. “I have really enjoyed working on it all these years, put it together myself and enjoy the reactions of listeners. I certainly hope to remain associated with MAX, we are discussing something new.”
Broadcaster MAX boss Jan Slagter confirms the new plans. According to him, Brandsteder is ‘very loved’ by the listeners of Radio 5. “The fact that we have to say goodbye to his radio program does not mean that we will not hear from him anymore. Ron is highly appreciated by both colleagues and our supporters.”
