NPO paid jihad bride Laura H. for interview | Interior

Minister Arie Slob (Media) announced this after questions from the VVD about this. According to the CU minister, she raised a fee of 400 euros.

The relevant Christmas interview raised a lot of dust at the end of last year. Critics felt that Laura H. should have been asked much more critically about the atrocities of IS. Instead, she was given ample space to wipe her street clean and to tell how she is trying to get her life back on track after a stormy existence.

Laura H. from Zoetermeer left for the caliphate in 2015. A year later, she fled the IS area and was returned to the Netherlands sentenced to prison for preparing terrorist crimes. She is now free again.

Member of Parliament was biting

VVD MP Zohair el Yassini was one of the people who were busy during the interview. He decided to ask parliamentary questions about it. He wondered, among other things, that KRO-NCRV pays public money to let “convicted IS-goers” tell their story on television.

CU minister Slob inquired about it. “The information provided to me shows that Laura H. received a fee of 400 euros for her participation in People with M. ”That is not the maximum budget he believes interviewers can get. That amount is 750 euros.

“Terrorist should not receive tax money”

VVD elder El Yassini finds it impossible that this has happened. “A while ago we had a bad time with the boss of a motorcycle gang that was paid by the public broadcaster. The NPO now has rules of conduct for paying guests. I really wonder how paying a Syrian goes within those rules. I want a quick explanation from the minister about that. Terrorists should not receive tax money to tell about their crimes on TV. “

Slob does not necessarily agree with him. “The editorial independence of the broadcasters is a great asset,” says the CU minister. “It is up to the broadcasters to determine the content of their programs.”
