Now you can get a list of personalized books from the NYPL – Telemundo New York (47)

Would you like to learn to cook better? or learn more about nature or history? Now you can receive personalized book recommendations according to your interests through a new program revealed by the New York Public Library.

The New York City Public Library (NYPL) just launched a new program that allows anyone to order a personalized list of books according to one’s preference.

Here is the map of the libraries closest to you.

As the pandemic has made in-person or indoor activities more difficult or stressful, the NYPL unveiled this new program that makes it easy to rent books from the library from the comfort of your home.

According to the NYPL, simply filling out a online formIn person or by phone, people can receive new readings selected according to their interests, that is, if you like romance or science books, the NYPL can now suggest a list of five books that might interest you.

Here are the three different ways you can order your personalized book list:

  1. Tell them about your reading interests here.
  2. OR Call (917-ASK-NYPL or 917-275-6975) to connect with a member of the library team, Monday through Friday, 12 pm to 5 pm where they will ask about their interests.
  3. Or lastly, pick up an application form at one of the participating locations to drop off or download one there and return it to the library on your next visit.

And what comes next? The NYPL notes that after completing the form:

  1. You will receive an email when the books are ready at the chosen branch to inform you that it is time to come and collect them.
  2. Same as him take away service, the books will already be on loan when you arrive.
  3. Head to your nearest branch, pick up your pack of books and start reading.
