The CVP Winterthur is now officially called “Die Mitte Winterthur”. At the online general assembly on Sunday, the party members clearly agreed to the name change. The cantonal party has also already decided to change its name. In an interview with TELE TOP, the Winterthur party president André Zuraikat was happy about this result. With the new name, the party has a lot of potential.
The name change also had headwinds. Some party members worry about the loss of the “Christian” in the name. Still others, such as parliamentary group president Iris Kuster, worry that the new party name is not creative and meaningful enough.
